House, now in 2 occupations of 2 storeys with single storey attached cottage
forming an L shaped block. Early C18. Hammer-dressed stone (rendered to rear),
stone slate roof. Nos. 2 and 3 formed the main ranges. 2 room front has quoins,
crude string course rising over square recess. Doorway with composite jambs.
All are double framed recessed flat faced mullioned windows of 4 and 6 lights to
both floors all with some mullions removed. Moulded stone gutter brackets at
lower level than present eaves level. Attached barn recently converted to form
extra accommodation to No. 2 with rebuilt front wall with casement windows ,
coped gables with kneelers. 2 stacks. Rear has outshot or aisle of single
storey construction. Left hand gable has remains of columbarium and recessed
heart shaped stone to apex. Attached to right hand gable wall is single storey
range with lean-to roof with coped ends with kneelers forming doorway for No. 3
with monolithic jambs. No. 1 faces on to roadside and has doorway with
monolithic jambs flanked by 2-light flat faced mullioned windows, doorway to
centre now forms window. Coped gable with kneelers and stack. Adjacent was
Shelf Windmill (stone) now gone.
