Two parallel blocks (5-storey to road, 6-storey to rear) with chimney between and office block and lodge to right of entrance at Whetley Mills (D Illingworth and Sons Mills)

1865, a fine mill complex consisting of 2 parallel ranges, designed by
Milnes and France with one of the finest extant mill chimneys in Bradford.
Sandstone "brick" with ashlar dressings. Five-storey road block and 6 to rear
range. Long ranges of close set ashlar lintel windows on sill bands, round
arched on ground floor. Rusticated lower ground floor. Mutule eaves cornices.
Slate roofs with coped gable ends with oculi. The taller rear range has stair
turrets to east end and is set on massive square plinth. Between both ranges is the
very tall octagonal mill chimney of sandstone "brick" with giant console
brackets to cornice capping and deep scalloped blocking course. To the right of
entrance gates is a lodge and set back 2-storey office range with archivolt
segmental arched windows and impost string. Deep bracketed eaves cornice.
