Pedestrian entrance to Campsmount. Probably early C19. Rubble magnesian
limestone with ashlar dressings. Central, round-headed, boarded door set in
square-headed ashlar surround flanked by projecting piers; concave wing walls
sweep down then up to similar end piers; the whole set in a curve. Ashlar
copings; each pier has band beneath pyramidal cap. Save access to a wooded
walk to Campsmount, C18 home of the Yarborough family and of George Cooke-
Yarborough from 1802-1818. The main house was demolished in 1959 although
farmbuildings of Campsmount Home Farm (q.v.) remain.
