Steps, railings and retaining walls. Late C18-early C19.
Limestone rubble retaining walls; ashlar copings and steps;
wrought-iron railings.
The steps approach the paired doorways to Mayfield Cottage and
Westfield Cottage (qv); the flights divided by a simple
handrail with scrolled end.
Front garden retaining walls to each cottage are surmounted by
spiked railings set between standards with vase finials. The
steps, railings and retaining wall form part of the setting to
Mayfield Cottage and Westfield Cottage (qv).
