GV II

House. Late C16 with C20 alterations. Rendered and
colourwashed timber frame; pantiled roof.
2 storeys. 4-window range. In centre of ground floor is a
former shop display window within timber surround, now fitted
with two late C20 top-hung casements. C20 door to right. To
right and left is one late C20 top-hung casement. 4 similar
first-floor casements set at irregular intervals. Gabled roof.
Ridge stack to south shared with adjoining premises; stack to
north on rear roof slope. Full-length C20 outshut to rear.
INTERIOR: timber frame of heavy scantling, with corner tension
braces and both jowled and unjowled principal posts. Main
ground-floor room with chamfered bridging beam and wide open
fireplace. Inserted passageway to first floor: blocked 6-light
diamond-mullioned window to rear. Clasped purlin roof.
