Two houses. c1630-40. Plastered and colourwashed timber frame
on brick plinth. Roof of corrugated tiles.
2 storeys. 3-window range. Iron Gates (south house) with two
C20 Crittall windows to ground floor either side of a glazed
C20 porch. One Crittall window to first floor. Lavendar
Cottage (north house) with one 3-light late C20 casement right
and left of a late C20 stable door. 2 C19 first-floor 3-light
casements. Gabled roof with central ridge stack. External
gable-end stack to north. Lavendar Cottage with two Velux roof
lights. South gable and 2-storey rear wing fitted with
Crittall casements.
INTERIOR (of Lavendar Cottage): timber frame of moderate
scantling, with jowled principal studs. Ground-floor room to
south with diamond stops to chamfered bridging beam. Wide
inglenook fireplace under plain bressumer. Clasped purlin
roof, with curved windbraces.
