Animal shelter with hay loft. c1730. Timber framed with partly rendered and colourwashed wattle and daub infill. Pantile roof. EXTERIOR: brick plinth. South front with central late C19 stable door. South wall and west wall with late C20 cement render. West return with loading door to attic, east return with C19 timber lean-to. Rear (north) elevation with exposed framing and one inserted late C19 plank door. INTERIOR: intact frame consisting of 4 principal studs north and south on sole plates, secondary studs and middle rail to west wall formerly supporting ceiling joists. One C18 chamfered bridging beam to east of entrance, raised when ceiling clearance altered late C19. West bridging beam and several joists renewed late C19. Roof of secondary rafters, with plank collars (one of 4 surviving) and one tier of clasped purlins.
