Milepost. 1840. Cast-iron classical-style pillar with low
pedimented capping, raised lettering to front: SALISBURY / 9 /
WARMINSTER / 12. One of a series of cast-iron mileposts and
boundary posts on turnpikes radiating from Warminster, manufactured
by Carson and Miller, a firm of Warminster ironfounders.
