School and schoolmaster's house, now village hall and doctor's surgery. C17,
altered and extended mid C20. Painted brick, old tile hipped roof, higher over
school. L-plan, schoolmaster's house on south, one storey, flat-roofed
extension at rear in internal angle. One storey and 2 storeys. 2 chimneys with
offset heads, clay pots on one. First-floor band. C18 and C20 casement
windows. East front (facing village pound): one-bay projecting gable on left,
2-light window on each floor, smaller on first floor. Section on right has
three 2-light windows on first floor with hoodmoulds; 2 large 5-light windows
on ground floor with small opening light in centre and wooden lintels. Small
lean-to extension on right. Interior: former school hall open to roof.
Schoolmaster's house has newel stair, altered, and old plank doors. Cast iron
fireplaces in committee rooms on ground and first floors.
