-The North Transept was erected by his surviving children to commemorate the long and faithful ministry of the Reverend Edward Thomas March Phillipps who was rector of this Parish for upwards of fifty years. He died July 12th 1859 aged 73 years and lies buried beneath. -The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Proverbs 4.18-. Near him lie the remains of Elizabeth his wife , who died 28th Apr 1861 age 69; their sons Edward Thomas d. 22nd Jul 1838 age 22; Frederick d. 23rd Mar 1831 age 14; daughter Emma Sophia d. 8th May 1849 age 23. -Take ye heed. Watch and pray for ye know not when thy hour is- St Mark 13.55-. (Photo Feb 2009).
