Gates, piers and flanking walls, 30
metres south of Vale House
G.V. II
Pair of piers, gates and flanking walls. Probably 1802. Rubble, freestone,
cast and wrought iron. 2 square piers with recessed panels, standing on plain
plinths with rubbing stone, hipped caps; attached gates have 2 tiers of spear
head rails, shorter at centre, and frieze with paterae, all now blanked by metal
sheeting; from each pier a curved flank wall, coped rubble, runs about 5 metres.
