Public House and attached cottage, C16 and C19. Circa 1560 cottage. Timber
framed and weatherboarded, red plain tiled roof, right external red brick
chimney stack, one storey and attics with gabled dormer and 2 ground floor 2
light casements, horizontal sliding sashes to right return attic, glazed porch
with grey slate roof to left. The C19 range of plastered brick, red plain tiled
roof, rear right gault chimney stack. 2 storeys. 2 window range of small paned
vertically sliding sashes, doorway to right, moulded surround, flat canopy on
brackets. To the left is a forward single storey range with grey slate roof,
one vertically sliding sash window and a segmental headed doorway. Interior,
stop chamfered bridging and ceiling josits, very large chimney stack, now with
C20 fireplace, stairs round chimney. Vertically boarded doors, original
ironmongery, one with bolts and bar. Semi-circular cast iron fire surround.
Boarded walls. Vertically boarded cupboard. Heavy tie beam.
