GREAT EASTON Bush Farmhouse

House, late-C16, 2 storeys and timber framed and plastered. 'L' shaped plan form
with gabled peg tile roof to form block and rear, one storey and attics extension.
Framed as 2 bays, with narrow hearth bay and 'cross-wing' at S end. C17 stack with
inglenook fireplace on rear wall of cross-wing. Slate roofed one storey lean-to at
S end. Front has off-centre, flat hooded early-C19 entrance door and mixture of C19
timber and C20 metal casements with horizontal panes. Interior reveals complete
diamond mullioned window in ground floor, north room, floor joists with soffit tenons
and diminished haunches and side purlin roof with straight wind bracing. The site is
moated.
