15/52 Old Smithy and
adjacent cottage

GV II

Smithy and cottage. Cottage C17, altered; smithy mid-C18. Rubble; stone
slate roof to cottage, pantiles with stone slates at eaves to smithy.

South elevation: Smithy 2 storeys, 2 bays. Central doorway blocked, with
later casement window inserted; similar windows on either side, with blocked
windows above; all openings in stone surrounds. Coped left gable and left
end stack. Slightly taller cottage to right 2 storeys, 2 bays. Doorway on
right and 2-light flat-faced mullioned window on left; 12-pane sashes on 1st
floor have lost most of their carpentry. End stacks. Right return shows
blocked chamfered window.

Rear elevation: Smithy shows boarded double doors under timber lintel; two
C20 garage doors in cottage.
