House, former farmhouse. Early C17, enlarged later in C17, altered and enlarged to
west in C19. Coursed rubble stone walls - left end section plastered, stone slate
roof with coped gable to front projection, one brick stack at right end, one right
of centre and one plastered stack near right end. 2 storeys. Projecting block at
front houses stair and probable garderobe. This has a splayed offset at ground
floor cill level and one at first floor level. Small opening - blocked, at ground
level in left flank wall. In front wall of projection, ground floor has a stone
mullioned window with casements with centre horizontal bar. Right of the projection,
a part-glazed panelled door. Ground floor has one stone mullioned window with
casements with centre horizontal bar. First floor, one casement with similar
glazing. Left of the projection, ground and first floors each have 2 casements
with glazing bars. 2-storey rear extension, in matching construction. In rear
wall of main house, some windows retain lead lights. Internally, some exposed
chamfered ceiling beams. Present stair, in projection, appears C19, but is offset
in this. Space at side probably originally garderobe. (RCHM, Monument 128.
