Detached Cottage. Mid C17. Rubble-stone walls, with front projecting
stair-well beside front door. Thatch roof with gable-ends and stone
gable-copings, with ovolo-moulded kneelers. Brick stacks at gable ends,
right gable is C20. Two storeys. 3 windows, 2-light and 3-light C20 wood
casements with glazing-bars, lozenge-leaded lights to top right-window.
Wood cills and lintels. Front door, plank and with strap-hinges, C18.
The rear casements have lozenge-leaded lights with opaque quarries.
Interior: open fireplaces in both end walls, with dressed stone jambs
cambered wood lintels with stepped stops. Ceiling beams with straight
chamfers and stepped stops. Flagstone floors. (RCHM, Dorset I, p 198(7)).
