Certain original details have disappeared over the years. The bay platforms and signal boxes, 'A' and 'B' at each end of the downside main platform were removed during the 1928 re-modelling of the station. This included the extension of this platform Westwards and the introduction of the single, overlooking signal box.
There were also two glass / brick, drive through Porticos, covering the roadway and entrances to the ticket offices. One projecting from each side of the station building.
These were taken down at some time during the early 1960s.
