Detached cottage. C17 or early C18. Painted rubble, thatched roof; rubble
stacks, that to left raised in brick. Gable stack plan with roof swept down
over stair turret front left, and centralised two-storey 2-window unit to right;
Ground floor has 2-light casement and 9-pane replacement C20 window, first
floor 2-light and 3-light casement, these with glazing bars. Under 3-light is a
part-glazed plank door under thatched hood. At right end is a projecting corbel
or kneeler, carried down as a buttress or pilaster, and with top thatched;
purpose of this not known. Left return has 2-light casement set deep and high
left, and a 2-light to staircase. Slate lean-to extension, right, under a
2-light casement; lean-to carried across back. Interior not inspected.
