to Cross Manor

GV II

Boundary wall to road, with gate. Probably C19 with C20 modifications. Rubble;
iron gate. Wall to saddle-back coping from end of property adjoining
(qv) and c.2 m hight runs to opening with garage, not included, then
recessed flat quadrant walls to square crenellations in rubble to centre pair of
square gate piers containing wrought iron gate; set-back section c.8 m across,
then plain wall returns, right, to gable end of Cross Manor (qv). The wall is
important to the visual containment of the centre of the village, opposite Rock
Cottage (qv).
