Byre. C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, with corrugated iron roof. 3 bays
aligned approx. N-S, with central passage, floor of red brick cambered to
gulleys and stalls each side. 2 storeys. C20 half-door to S in original
doorway. Original doorway to N without door. Halved door in E side, inserted.
Red brick plinth in Flemish bond approx. 0.5 metre high. Pegged hardwood frame,
primary straight bracing. Chamfered beams with plain stops, joists of vertical
section jointed to beams with soffit tenons and diminished haunches. Bolted
knees to straight tiebeams, face-halved and bladed scarfs in wallplates, queen
strut roof, joggled butt purlins, all rafters tenoned and pegged. 5 pigeon
roosts each side of roof, incomplete.
