Cottage. Probably early C18, remodelled in mid to late C19. Joint-lined rendered
rubble and cob. Left end rebuilt in brick. Thatch roof with gable ends and
bracketted eaves. Brick shaft to stone rubble rear lateral stack with offsets
heating right-hand room.
Plan: 2 room and through-passage plan, the right-hand room heated by rear lateral
stack and with steep winder staircase in rear left-hand corner. Left-hand room
divided axially to form 2 small unheated rooms, the partition modified in C20.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 2 window range. All C20 3 light casements 2 panes per light,
with peaked lintels to the openings. C19 plank door with bracketted thatched canopy.
Rusticated quoins, the left end set in slightly where the gable end wall has been
rebuilt in brick due to the demolition of the adjoining cottage in mid C20.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 2 window range. All C20 3 light casements 2 panes per light,
with peaked lintels to the openings. C19 plank doors illustrated quoins, the left
end set in slightly where the gable end wall has been rebuilt in brick due to the
demolition of the adjoining cottage in mid C20.
Interior: C19 dado panelling to through-passage and right-hand room. Fireplace
lintel replaced.
Roof: C19 roof structure of 5 trusses with straight principals of light-scantling
with pegged lapped collars.
