Milestone. Early C19. Granite. Upright slab standing approximately 1 metre
high. It is flat-topped and triangular in plan with chamfered edges. Front
sides are canted forward and are inscribed with Roman serif capitals and
both Roman and Arabic numbers. Left side is inscribed 'TO EXON 20 MILES'
and right side is inscribed 'TO BARUM XX MILES'. Evidently half-way point
from Exeter to Barnstaple.
