House. Probably C17 or early C18 with later additions. Roughcast stone with
slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with gabled wing to right and C20 wing to right
return. Windows have casements, some with timber lintels; 2nd bay has fire
windows to both floors. Wing has large casement to inner return. Entrance has
gabled trellis porch. Wing has gable-end entrance and 1st floor pitching hole
with door with strap hinges. Gable-end stacks and cross-axial stack. Left
return has tall light with lattice glazing. Rear has casement windows.
Interior has 2 upper cruck trusses with spurs. Some plank partitions and
chamfered beams, that to fireplace has post with scored mouldings and camber to
left, probably remains of heck partition, with former gable-end entrance, now
blocked. Pegged and battened door, now not in situ, and part of wooden
chamfered-mullioned window also ex situ. Spice cupboard with incised moulding.
3rd bay, possibly later, has spiral stair, treads mostly renewed, and cambered
beam at foot.
