Tower, probably used as a lookout for hunting parties and commanding views of the
Coryton Estate. Circa early to mid C19. Stone rubble with buff brick dressings.
Battlemented 2-stage circular tower heated on both floors with a projecting
rectangular stack disguised as a buttress. The tower has a brick-capped plinth and a
brick string course below the battlemented parapet. 3 steps up to a cambered arched
doorway with brick voussoirs and flush brick jambs. A window above the doorway has a
flat brick arch and flush brick jambs, glazing no longer exists. On the south east
the tower has 1 ground floor and 2 first floor windows with similar brick dressings
and granite sills, glazing no longer exists.
Interior. Inner walls are lined with brick. Floor of upper stage and stairs
missing, first floor fireplace intact.
