Lodge to Tor Royal House (q.v). Circa early C19 with later C19 addition. Granite
rubble walls. Pyramidal slate and asbestos slate roof. Central axial granite
ashlar chimney stack.
Plan: 4 rooms arranged around central chimney stack, each originally with a corner
fireplace. The 2 front rooms are the larger principal rooms. Later C19 outshut
added at left-hand end.
Exterior: Single storey. Symmetrical 2 window front of 2 light C19 casements with
4-centred arched heads and intersecting glazing bars in head. Central doorway has
blocked 4-centred arch above. Remains of original doorhood with moulded cornice and
one original pilaster at the rear, renewed post at the front and a supporting wall
has been inserted under the left-hand side of the building with C20 glazed door on
its front wall. The other 2 elevations retain their C19 arched-head casements.
Interior: Principal room has Victorian arched grate to chimneypiece in corner and a
built-in settle facing it.
