6/69 Little Beare Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Circa late C17, altered in C20. Rendered rubble and cob walls.
Thatched roof, hipped to rear wing, otherwise gable ended. 2 brick gable end stacks
to front range and brick lateral stack at side of rear wing.
Plan: L-shaped plan, original form of which is not entirely clear as the rear wing
has the earlier features. The front range consists of 2 rooms each heated by an end
stack.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window front of late C20 PVC 2-light casements. Central
PVC door under thatched doorhood. Wing extends behind right-hand end of front range
and has a C19 4-light casement on the first floor of its end wall.
Interior: inaccessible at time of survey but seen to contain chamfered ceiling beam
in rear wing.
