Anns Hill was once the property of William Upton Slack (born Anns Hill in 1832-died at Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1908). This photo was handed down to his descendents in New Zealand - William Upton Slack had left for New Zealand in 1858. William Upton Slack was left Anns Hill by his father, William Slack, who was born at Derwent Hill in 1803 (will of 1846; died in 1854).
