24.10.51 Hermitage, Beach Road)

House. Probably early - mid C18 with alterations of C19 and C20. Painted stone
rubble; left side rendered. Thatched roof with gable ends. Gable end stacks with
brick shafts.
Plan: 2-room plan with entrance between, each room heated from a gable end stack.
The room to left is larger than the room to right; the entrance is off-centre to
right through a porch. Later rear outshut, unheated, for service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window front, all windows are varied casements of
C19 and early C20. Ground floor has C20 half-glazed door in open-fronted gabled
thatched porch. 2-light 2-pane casement to right and 2-light 6-pane casement to left
with L-hinges. First floor has two 2-light casement. Left side has C20 window at
ground floor to right.
Interior: Not inspected.
