Gate-piers and flanking walls to former Kennal Vale Gunpowder Works. Late C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Wide gateway with piers and terminal piers integral with flanking walls. Gate-piers and terminal piers rise above the walls and are with ramped pyramidal caps. The walls slope down at either side of the terminal piers. Gateway partly blocked.

HISTORY: Kennal Vale is an exceptionally well-preserved gunpowder works which opened in 1812 and was extended in 1844. The house inside the gateway is shown on maps of 1840 and this entrance probably dates from the opening of the upper works in 1844.
