listed as House and Small House
6.6.69 adjoining the Royal Oak Inn)

House and small cottage, converted to form 1 house. House of circa mid C17, partly
remodelled in circa mid C18, possibly contemporary with the addition of the small
cottage on the right hand end. Stone rubble with rag slate roof with hipped ends.
Cottage to right with slate roof, hipped on left and gable end on right. Projecting
stone rubble lateral stack to rear left.
Plan: House of 2 room and probably through passage plan, the left hand room heated by
a projecting rear lateral stack and the right hand room originally heated by end
stack. In circa mid C18 the house was extended with outshots across rear and
probably with a small cottage of 1 room plan on the right hand end. In circa C19 and

was incorporated as part of the house, the ground floor used as a garage.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 3:1 window regular front. House to left with 2 circa late C19
canted bay windows to far right and left. C20 window to left of centre and C19 6-

pane sashes renewed in C20. The former cottage to right has a 12-pane sash on the
first floor and garage doors on the ground floor.
