E OF HIGHAMS FARMHOUSE

Barn, early C17. Timber-framed, walls of weatherboarding, corrugated iron and
concrete blocks, roof of corrugated iron. 4 bays with midstrey and single
aisle opposite. Jowled arcade posts, arched braces to tiebeams and arcade-
plates. Curved primary bracing in walls of midstrey. NE aisle wall wholly rebuilt.
Studding of SE wall removed, posts and plate present. Common rafters removed,
principal rafters present. A raised roof of low pitch, C20, and C20 side
walls, enclose the original timber structure.
