SS 21 NW MORWENSTOW GOOSEHAM

House, used as outbuilding 1846-1980s, reconverted to house. Probably early C18
origins. Stone rubble to first floor level, colourwashed rendered cob above, right
end unrendered stone rubble. Thatched roof hipped at right end, gabled at left
end. Brick chimney at left end, C20 brick lateral chimney to right front. Exposed
brick quoins in render. Single depth plan, probably originally 2 rooms and through
passage with later barn with loft above adjoining at right end. 2 storeys.
Asymmetrical 2 window front with off-centre thatched porch carried on long timber
brackets. Higher end slightly advanced. 2 small square timber ground floor
windows, 2 similar first floor windows, one in lower end.
Interior : 1980s painted brick partition walls. First floor rooms retain collar
rafter roof, collars halved and pegged into principals. 1980s roof above. First
floor room left has fireplace with fireplace beam. Former loft entrance retained
at rear with late C20 timber balcony.
