Farmhouse. Built 1831 for Michael Dunstan. Killas rubble walls with slate sills,
shallow brick arches and freestone keystones. Half-hipped slurried scantle slate
roof with brick chimneys over side walls.
Plan of 2 equal reception rooms flanking central vestibule passage leading to small
central stair hall between narrower rear service rooms.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window south front with central round-headed brick arched
doorway and date and builders initials inscribed on keystone. Circa early C20 ledged
door with blind fanlight over (probably originally glazed). Circa late C19 early C20
4-pane sashes.
Interior is little altered with original L-stair with stick balusters and turned
newels, 4-panel doors, moulded ceiling cornice and band to left-hand room (parlour),
moulded ceiling beams to right-hand room (living-room) and bread oven to back
kitchen behind.
Although with later sashes this house is still very complete and particularly
interesting with building date and initials of builder.
