C16 building encased and enlarged in the C18 with C19 and modern alterations.
Walls now of brick externally, with stucco surfaces. Of 3 storeys. Five window
range with massive Ionic porch. Heavy moulded string at first floor level;
long and short quoins and rusticated ground floor. Windows pairs of 6 pane
sashes in wide stucco surrounds. One bow window to north on ground floor with
42 panes. Plan U-shaped. Trollope reputedly stayed here while writing parts
of his books.
