5/15 Summer house and garden walls to
- N.E. of Rosteague house

Summer house and adjoining garden walls. Circa mid-late C19, walls earlier. Nearly
conical Somerset reed thatch over wheat reed original roof to summer house and cob
and slatestone rubble garden walls with slate copings. Summer house is in north-east
corner of walled formal rectangular garden attached to Rosteague house to south-east.
Front of summer house facing south east is open and supported on rustic tree trunks
with original thatch arched between tree trunk posts.
Interior has original rustic roof structure, beach pebble patterned floor and wall
covering of shells arranged in small squares with floral pattern to each. To centre
of wall is reused C17 Baroque carving of Abraham and Isaac with goat. Upper part of
terraced geometric box garden, known as The French Garden is thought to be C16 or C17
in origin.
