Farmhouse. Late C17, rebuilt and extended, dated RR 1867; few later alterations.
Rubble; front in stucco, rear rendered. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends,
gable end stacks with rendered shafts. Part of the rear slope of the roof is
asbestos slate.
Plan: One room remains to rear right of the original building, heated by gable end
stack to right; in the C19, the left end of the house was rebuilt, and a parallel
range was added to the front, with principal room to front right and left, and a
central entrance with stair hall. The rear rooms used as service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-bay front with the central bay broken forward with
a gable over the porch, with bargeboards. The porch at ground floor is half-glazed
with margin-glazing and half-glazed double doors, swept lead roof; single light to
each side course; first floor has three 12-pane sashes. Right side blind, with band
course. Rear range at right side has 2-light casement at ground floor and stepped
external stack. Left side has 4-pane sash at first floor in the rear range, 4-pane
sash at ground and first floor in the front range. At the rear, there is a C19
parallel range to right, with 3-light casement at ground floor and two 4-pane sashes
at first floor. Set in the angle to the early range to left is a porch with C20
door; upper wall slate-hung. To left, ground floor 3-light case, and first floor 2-
light C20 casement.
