SX 36 NW CALLINGTON FROGWELL

7/34 Barn 12m to south of Frogwell
Farmhouse

GV II

Barn comprising shippon, threshing floor, and granary. Circa 1840s extended in circa
1870s.' Rubblestone with large granite quoins. Stone dressings. Slate roofs
replaced with asbestos slate on right hipped end. Scantle slate on left hipped end
with rag slate on south east range with hipped ends. Main range on north west
extended on right-hand end and also to south east to form 'L' shape plan. 2 storeys,
symmetrical central range with 5 cut stone round arched shippon openings, now partly
blocked. Double timber doors in centre above with hipped slate hood. 2 square
openings flanking. Extended on right-hand side, with roof continued. Door on left
with brick segmented arch and window under similar arch above. Projecting wing on
south east of 2 storeys. 3 doors on ground floor, 2 with granite chamfered lintels.
2 doors above. Pigeon holes in left hand hipped end.
Similar design to barn to north east. (qv barn to west of East Frogwell Farmhouse).
