Early mid C18. 3 storeys and basement. Brown brick heading in front with stone
channelled basement, stone quoins, keystones, modillion cornice and parapet.
2 brick chimneys, one original retaining stone capping. Slate roof. Plate
glass sash windows with brick flat arches. Heavy Ionic doorpiece. Fluted and
reeded engaged shafts, pulvinated frieze and pediment; 6 panel door with rec-
tangular light above. Steps to door with ramped curved base for lost railings.
Very good interior. Fine entrance hall with corinthian colonnade before wide,
open staircase, slightly marred by porters lodge added on left. Front ground
floor room has a modillion cornice and a later marble fireplace. Some panelling
remains on 1st floor.
