3/145 Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. c.1840. Brick in Flemish bond (front) and English
Garden Wall bond (rear). Burlington slate roof in diminishing
courses; stone gable copings. 3 Storeys, 3 bays, of which R.H.S.
bay originally contained a full-height bow window now replaced by
a square brick bay of c.1960; other windows are sashes with
glazing bars and painted stone sills. Central doorway with
double part-glazed doors and rectangular fanlight. Canopy on
square brick pillars of c.1960. The interior still retains
original staircase in spacious entrance hall, the floor of which
is surfaced with coloured quarry tiles in complex geometric
pattern; executed by unknown Italian craftsman.
