Pair of houses, early C19, of smooth-rendered brick with hipped roof
of graded grey slate. Of 2 storeys and 5 windows - No.2 is of 3
windows. Recessed sashes of 16 panes - the side panes are slightly
narrower than those to the centre. No.2 has replaced door in wooden
doorcase of classical derivation, with elliptical radial-bar fanlight.
No.4 has replaced door in a plain (probably mid C20) open porch of
rendered brick. Right side of No.2 has two 16-pane recessed sashes to
lower storey and one to upper storey - the other upper-storey window
is replaced.
Interior: of No.2 has 6-panel doors to main rooms and 5-panel to back
rooms downstairs, and dogleg stair with stick balusters which has rail
and turned newel of mahogany. Brick cellar. The interior of No.4 not
inspected.
