SJ 55 NE SPURSTOW C.P. SPURSTOW

2/69 Spurstow Hall Cottages

GV II

Cottages, early C17, Brick nogged timber frame with replaced tile
roof. 2 storeys, 3 window bays, double-pile rear (west) wing.
Sandstone plinth, boarded doors under monopitch canopies supported on
timber brackets. Modern casements, with lattice glazing, inserted in
frame panels. Small framing in heavy timbers with lower tension
braces and upper angle braces. Carved oak panel at first floor level
has bear's paw and crown, which are emblems of the Crewe Estate. Gable
and intermediate stacks.
Interior: Deep bevelled beams and heavy exposed joists.
