5/14 Clotton Cottage.

Originally farmhouse, later 2 estate cottages, now house: mid C17
with later C19 alterations for Tollemache Estate. Timber framing with
brick nogging on stone base, brick repairs. Red tile roof. 2 gable
brick chimneys. 1-storey and attic, 5-bay front. Small frames of
slender scantling with angle braces. 1, 2 and 3-light casements in
ground storey with in 4th bay door with 5 fielded panels behind a
flimsy lean-to porch. Above are a pair of windows in timber-framed
gabled dormer with finial. Brick walls to sides and rear.
Interior: Heavy chamfered ceiling beams, quarry tile floor in parts.
Tiebeam and collar trusses exposed upstairs.
