The Nave was rebuilt from 1435 using the plan of the Norman Nave. The Chancel dates from 1437 retaining the original wall structure of the Norman Chancel. John Newton (1725 - 1807), composer of "Amazing Grace" and associate of William Wilberforce in his campaign to abolish slavery, was ordained priest in Buckden Church in 1764.
