C18 earlier-mid with later C19 1 storey shop extension on north side. Double
fronted with 2 windows and 1 window gable end to street. Tiled roof with fluted
brick eaves cornice on north side and moulded red brick gable stack. 2 storeys
and dormers. Multi-coloured stock brick with red brick fronts to west and north
facades; refaced red brick ground floor to west frontage. Gault brick shop extension
with slated hipped roof. Architraved flush framed sash windows with glazing bars;
ground floor with segmental arched heads. Wooden early C19 doorcase with pilasters
and projecting cornice. Shop windows with large panes.

Nos 1, 3 and the Chequers Inn form a group.
