Public house. C17 origins, thorough C20 remodelling and extension following a fire
in the 1980s. Whitewashed rendered cob and stone rubble ; thatched roof, gabled at
ends ; left end stack, axial stack (formerly right end).
Plan: Alterations have obscured the details of the early plan but it is likely to
have been a 2 room and through passage arrangement with heated rooms to left and
right. The original building has been extended at both ends, a 1 room plan addition
at the right end and a long late C20 single-storey thatched addition at the left end.
C20 rear right single-storey wing with a flat roof.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4:1 window front (the one window to the right end
addition) with a front door to left of centre. C20 timber small pane casements. The
rear elevation has casement windows and one C20 bow window.
Interior: The left end fireplace has sandstone jambs and a timber lintel with scroll
stops ; the right end fireplace has a brick and iron lintel. Exposed carpentry is
C20.
One of Swete's views of Kenn in 1795 shows one end of the building.

Office.
