Group of three gravestones
9 yds SE of Norbury Church
Tower.

Three gravestones. Early C18. Sandstone. Three thick tombstones in similar style,
all with wavy heads and staff moulded edges. Southern one is inscribed 'Here
lyeth the body of Robert Hartshorn who departed this life the first of January
and was buried the third of January 1711, in the seventieth year of his A'. The
central one is inscribed 'Here lyeth the body of Thomas the son of Robert and
Elizabeth Hartshorn who departed this life July the 14th, 1713, who dyed in the
26 years of his age'. Northern stone has worn worse than the others and is
inscribed ' Here lyeth the body of Elizabeth the wife of Robert Hartshorn who
departed this life..... 17?? ........... Included for group value only.
