William and Maud Burton at Forge House 1943

Uploader's Comments

William Burton was my Grandfather and the blacksmith at Forge House, Manston until his death shortly after this photo was taken in 1943. Forge House was sold out of the Burton Family in 1948. Notice the wrought iron porch in the background, complete with air raid warden sign, which was built by William.
