Farmhouse, now divided into three dwellings. c1600 with mid-C18 and mid-C19
alterations and additions. Part timber-framed with rendered infill, brick
refacing, replacement walling and additions, plain tiled roof. Three framed
bays aligned east/west with two external C19 chimneys to north elevation; one
bay added or rebuilt at east end with a south external chimney and bread oven
and a ridge stack at the east end. Two storeys, attic with dormers and cellar;
gable ends have moulded bargeboards and pendant finials. Framing: side eleva-
tions have three rows of small square panels at first-floor level and long
straight lower corner braces; west gable end has two rows of close-set studding
at ground-floor level, three rows of small square panels at first-floor level
and a tie-beam truss with decorative struts. Windows are mainly C19 metal case-
ments. South front elevation: ground floor has two 3-light windows with plank
weatherings and a cross-casement with a cambered head; first floor has two 3-
light windows, a 2-light window, two rectangular lights and a C20 single-light
casement; two C20 flat-roofed dormers with 3-light windows; ledged and battened
door at west end and C19 gabled balustraded porch on brick base to easternmost
bay of probable older part; within the porch is a C19 panelled door with ornate
iron hinges and studs and a transom light with a central glazing bar. There is
a similar porch at the east gable end; also attic lights in gable ends.
Interior not inspected. A C19 single-storey wing adjoins the east bay at rear.
