HAWLING VILLAGE
Manor Farmhouse (formerly listed as part of Manor Farmhouse and two Barns)

II

Former farmhouse, now house. Early C18, mid-late C19. Roughly
squared, coursed stone, ashlar quoins, stone slate roof. Three-
window entrance front, one room deep, 2 storeys; centre rear wing,
one bay, 1 1/2 storeys. Entrance facade, boarded door up one stone
step, rectangular light over, flat stone lintel. Either side a 3-
light mullioned window, slightly projecting sill, leaded lights.
Above central 2-light window, 3-light each side, all as below.
Projecting gable chimneys, diminishing at eaves level, low stacks
above ridge. Right return, single-light windows to right of
chimney on both floors. Rear wing, set back, 3-light mullioned
window, with plain chamfer; above 2-light mullioned window in
stone gable. Plain chimney on right gable. Single storey C20
rear wings not of special interest.
