Obelisk tomb. Mid C19. Sandstone. A square obelisk on high square pedestal
with plain pilasters to sunk panels; high moulded base on square sub-base. To
various members of the Gyde family, earliest date 1856. Gyde was a considerable
benefactor to Painswick, including endowments for almshouses (qv) and orphanage
(qv).
